Still No Wheels

Still waiting. And we have a trip coming up. I helped Lady organize and pack a bunch of stuff for the little school in Apple Country. I hope there's room in the taxi for me and all my stuff!
Aunty Sara, Aunty Marilyn and Buddy Boy sent these craft supplies for Lady to use with our kids. We will use them at our Resurrection Day party.
Lady found most of these supplies locally. Aunty Glenda sent money to help pay for these supplies for the small school we're going to next week. I love helping Lady with stuff! I take care of the trash.

No Wheels

Lady took the package slip to the post office, hoping it was for my wheels. She missed her stop on the bus and had to walk walk walk -without me. She got so lost. People just keep saying "age," which means ahead. Well, even after she hitched a ride with a school van, she was still a long way away, climbing up the side of the mountain. ANd no wheels. But a very nice package of crafts from Buddy Boy's human, Aunty Marilyn. We'll use those crafts to teach about Resurrection Day, and for spring. My kids from the Home will love the crafts!
We have a trip soon, but Lady doesn't want to go until my wheels come. She paid extra money for "three to five business days" almost two weeks ago. But this is India.
It rained most of the day yesterday and all night. The power kept going off, so my heater went off. I haven't cried in a week, but I did this morning. Lady gave me a feel-better pill and let me stay in the warm bed while we chatted with my grandparents, and caught up with my mail.
Maybe my wheels will come today!

Home Again Home Again

Yippee! Lady got back quick! And she brought Jing with her! I know her from Bangalore. She used to live with us and take care of me. She brought me chicken MacNuggets! Lady said Jing threw up all the way through the mountains. It takes about five hours to get here once your winding around. I've eaten at that MacDonald's. They had an interesting day. Jing was in a different train car than Lady and fell asleep. Lady searched and searched for her, but she not at their stop. Lady had to get the station master to find her -still on the train! So, they took care of her until Lady could take a taxi to the next town and get her. Remember she is a foreigner, too. She is Chinese, like me, only she is from Myanmar. She speaks my first language to me. I enjoyed the chicken she brought me! With her in the house, I will be getting some eggs and meat!
My wounds are healing on my feet. Lady was pleased. The kids at the Home took good care of me. Hopefully, my chair will come tomorrow. Lady didn't get a package slip yet. Lady says I am going on the next trip. She doesn't want to leave me. That place is even higher than here, and still cold, but we'll take my heater. They have lots of sun for me to lie in! And I get to go to school! And they eat meat there!
It's good to be back in my own bed.

Back in the Home

Well, Pearly, Evangeline, Emman and Jevan came to pick me up early this morning. I should have known something was up when I saw the suitcase on the bed. I didn't see Lady pack my stuff. I was happy to see the kids. Well, not as excited as I get when I see Lady. She packed my gauze and tape, my cheese and feel-better pills, my blankets, my chow bucket, my coats, and my bowls. Yep. Takes a lot of stuff for a sleepover.
Lady and I are anxiously awaiting the arrival of my wheels. I am still having a hard time. Lady said she'd be back next Sunday, and maybe my wheels would be here, too! I'm not sure what to expect, but Lady says we'll be able to take long walks again, and I won't hurt so bad. Any other handi-capable dogs have any advice for me?

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

This from last year. I'm not in the mood to dress up today, and it is too cold for me to wear my tee shirt. Lady and i are decorating our house and will have our own little party with Jerry. Maybe the little boys from the Children's Home wlll come!

I'm Getting Wheels!

Lady looked into Walkin' Wheels from www.Handicappedpets.com and Eddie's Wheels. For me, Walkin' Wheels Mini seems to be the right choice. It's adjustable, and comes apart for transporting. The other model requires 13 exact measurements and is welded. It is not adjustable. And if my size changes, or Lady made a mistake, we live too far to send it back. Lady paid $85 for express shipping so it should reach India in 3-5 business days. But who knows when I will actually get it. It costs $249 for the mini. Lady says I am worth it. I could not take care of business tonight. I just dragged my legs. The temperature dropped and I started shaking and crying. So, we came back in, got on the computer and ordered my new wheel chair. In blue. Pink was on sale, but Lady wouldn't do that to me. Lady just can't watch me drag my feet another minute. Sure hope my new wheels don't get stuck in customs.
Lady hopes that if I can give my legs a rest, my back will get better. I spent time in my crate today to rest. We're going back to the vet, but Lady doesn't have any faith in them. She has faith in God, though.
Oh. Lady gave me a wrapped gift to open at Jerry's birthday party. She got in about 10:00 last night. Anyway, I got a white bear with long long arms. I am so happy to have Jerry back even if just for a visit.
When my wheels come, we're going to have a party.

Clean and Bandaged

Lady bandaged my feet for me. She went on a couple of websites looking for wheels for me. I love to walk, but now Lady has to carry me up and down all the stairs, and I can't even walk to the Children's Home anymore. She found something called Walkin' Wheels that look good, but they are very expensive for our budget, not to mention getting them shipped here. Lady says if they will help me she will get them for me. We live on the side of a mountain. There are so many smells I am missing because I just can't walk that much anymore. Pretty much take care of business and go in. We've written to Handicapped Pets to see if they will ship the wheels to India, and what size I should get. How am I supposed to poop with wheels? I am having a really hard time pooping now, and I pee like a girl (I'm not allowed to write the B word).
Well, thanks for thinking of me, and asking about me. Two months isn't as long as six months. My Lady always comes back to me. And she always lets me stay with cool kids when she leaves. When we were in China, she left me for five months one time, and six months another. She goes home to see my grandparents every two or three years. Humans think I will forget, but I don't. I am always happy to see my Lady.
More good news! Aunty Jing is coming to stay with us for three months and help at the Children's Home, and with other stuff we do! Maybe she'll go with us when we go to help the school in Apple Country. Yep. I'm going this time! Lady will train the teachers, and I will train the kids! Well, a little bandaged dog needs his sleep, so good night.

Lady's Back and We're Both Home!

Oh happy day! I was just hanging out on the balcony in the sunshine when who should come up the stairs! It's Lady! I was so happy! My legs weren't working real well, but I tried to do my happy dance. When we got home, I kept following her around everywhere. She finally had to crate me so I would rest and not drag my feet. I'm not crying.

In the arms of my mommy.
The little boys helped me get home. They hung around for awhile and played. It's Emman's birthday so Lady gave them all treats. They also wanted some of the Christmas cards Lady still had out. She didn't know she'd be gone so long!
Lady thinks I have lost weight, and she saw the sores on the tops of my hind feet where I've been dragging them. The left one is bad. Lady bought stuff to clean my wounds and wrap them up. She gave me a nice hot bath. I haven't had one in 65 days. She said I didn't smell my best. After my bath, she bundled me up in a warm towel and put me by the heater. Lady is not sure what to do. She said something about trying to get me wheels. When she was here and I was like this, she crated me and i improved, only to get worse again. PTL the cold weather is just about all gone. It is hitting low 60's now in the day, and cold at night. Beautiful!
More good news: Jerry is coming in tonight. She lived with us for six months. The family she lives with now is out of town. So she is coming to help Lady get our house back in order. Tomorrow is her birthday. Lady and I already decorated. The house is dirty but very festive. Lady brought me all kinds of treats. She also has a wrapped gift for me, but she didn't let me have it. maybe it's for Jerry.
I am all clean and bandaged up, ready to go to bed in my own bed with Lady, right where I belong.

Back to the Vet Hospital

Uncle took me to the vet. He stuck me twice. I didn't bite. I feel better after my injections. He also ordered my feel better pills from the vet in New Delhi. That's good news. It's gonna be really cold this weekend. Snow is forecast. That means pain for me. The vet wants me to come back every other day for one shot and once a week for the other. Other than being a pin cushion, I am feeling better. I will be SO glad when my Lady gets home. She booked her ticket today and should get home to me on March 15. She says she is bringing me some surprises! I love surprises. Whenever Lady gets home I always check her bags to see what she brought.
Thanks for thinking of me! Lady and I appreciate the kind comments. They really help us! It's hard to be apart.

It's Too Cold for a Little Dog With Back Issues

Lady called me today. Good thing she didn't call yesterday as she had planned. Yesterday was bad. Christy cried. I just could get my legs to work, and I cried. A lot. Her daddy called my vet. I'm out of feel better pills. He said he can't get them as they are imported. He said to bring me in and he'd help me feel better. So, tomorrow I am going. Lady told him where to get the feel better pills. I can't take them AND have injections too. It's been in the low 20's every night and in the thirties and low 40's during the day. I wouldn't eat yesterday, so today they cooked chicken for me. I feel much better today, and I can walk. How long does winter last, anyway? It makes em ache so. And Lady saw more snow in the forecast. It doesn't stick long, but it is so cold. Aunty told Lady not to worry about me. She does, you know.
At the end of the month my Christy is going to live at her school so she can concentrate on her studies. That stinks. She's my bud. I have been keeping Aunty company though because she has a broken leg. Sure wish my Lady would come home.
I'll let you know how the vet visit goes. Thanks for thinking of me.

Delayed and Detoured

Well, Lady called. She's been delayed from coming come. She is now in another country until she can get back into India. She won't be back until next month. Christy's mom told her not to worry about me. I'm fine. I know she misses me terribly. She said she is busy in her new place. She's staying in a guest house. She's doing the same kind of things she does here, training teachers, and working with kids. She's making new friends, too. I miss my Lady, but I'm okay.

I'm Doxi of the Day!

Guess what! It's my day on Daily Doxi! Just click the link in the column on the right to see my page! Lady and I love this site! We make friends there.
If you have found my blog through The Daily Doxie, welcome! I am currently in India, and my Lady is in Thailand, so I am having help keeping up my posts. Lady calls me twice a week to get updates. Browse my archives to see photos of my life in China. and by the way,
Xi Nian Kuai Le! Happy New Year! It is the Year of the Rabbit.

Hi Friends!

Lady called me again today! She misses me so much. I was so excited to hear her voice! My happy meter was going big time! Christy is helping me with the phone and my post. I'm fine. We hope the snow is finally over. The days have been warmer, so I enjoy my sunshine. The kids are still out of school, but some have to go back soon. Christy's mom, Aunty P. fell and broke her foot. She has a plaster cast on it, so I have been busy taking care of her. She just got it yesterday. She has been gone on a trip. Christy was supposed to go too, but she stayed when she found out I would stay at the Home.
I'm being a very good boy. They all love me here. My back is fine. I was in the most pain when the weather was coldest. It made me ache. I still stay near the heater, or in a sunbeam. Thanks for keeping up with me. My Lady can't come home for another month due to visa issues. She's in Thailand. She bought me many special treats and chew toys! I will enjoy them, but mostly I will enjoy my Lady when she comes home. She calls me a couple of times a week. I enjoy her calls, but then I go and mope by the door. Well, I better get back to taking care of Aunty!

Missing Marley

This is Lady again. I am not going to be able to return this weekend as hoped. Due to visa issues, I have to stay out for longer than I thought. I know Marley is in good hands, but I miss him terribly. It is still very cold there, and more snow coming.

Update on Marley

Talked with Marley and Christie last night. Marley wagged his tail but didn't say much. He still has a bit of a runny nose, but is still fine and staying near the heater. The days are full of sunshine, so he finds a sunbeam in which to bask -his favorite thing to do during the day. He has shredded his Christmas toys, so I guess I better come home with new ones. Hey, he doesn't even know it yet, but he has a new baby cousin! Another male, a Havanese. When I get photos, I will post them! He was born across the street from my parents. I'm sure you'll more about Murdock. Anyway, I may be able to return to my baby this weekend! Having fun, but really missing my baby.

Update on Marley

Hey friends. Talked to Marley this morning. He caught a cold on the snowy day, but is staying warm now and does not have a fever. He is eating well, and taking his feel-better pills. He is not lethargic, and is acting fine. He is enjoying the bright sunshine during the day. He follows Christy everywhere. He enjoyed hearing my voice and tried to talk. He's being a good boy. His back is feeling a little better. Thanks for your kind thoughts and prayers. Can't wait to get back to my baby!

Marley Says Hello

Lady here. Just talked with Marley and Christy. It is SNOWING at home! He does not want to go outside. Christy has to wait until it stops. She said Marley follows her to the bathroom and cries if she leaves him outside the door. She said he is staying warm by the heater. The neighborhood street dogs come by every morning to see him. He's not allowed to play with them, though. Christy said he cries in the crate, but I told her to keep trying so he can get some back rest. He still won't take his feel-better (anti-inflamatory and pain ) pill, even with cheese. He is eating well though.
The forecast is for sun and clouds tomorrow but a high of only 40. It's the very low nighttime temps I worry about.
Thanks for the kind comments. It's encouraging! I read Daily Doxie every day that I can. Thanks for praying for my little guy!

Missing Marley

Lady here. I've got the computer, so Marley can't post. I'm missing Marley, a lot. He's with Christy at the Children's Home, trying to stay warm. I'm where it's warm, trying to stay cool. She's says he is crying when she touches his back, but won't take his pill -even wrapped in cheese. Not good. And, he won't go in his crate. Not good. But he ate all his chicken. And he shredded his new stuffed Christmas tree. She said he's lying in the sun during the day. Hey, some comments would be nice, just to know someone is reading his blog. Marley wants to know.

She Put Me In A Home

Just like the other kids, my mom couldn't take care of me so she put me in a home...for little humans who don't have anyone to care for them. Ha! Just kidding! I'm on vacation, helping out here at Grace Home. Lady saved some chickenMacNuggets for me to have today to make it a little easier for me. We drew some stares as we walked down the street. Little Pearly was carrying my bucket of chow, and Christy struggled to carry my kennel with all my stuff. Lady had to carry me pretty quick this am. I didn't like like it when Lady left me. But my Lady always comes back to me.

Home Again

I'm home! But not for long. As soon as we got home after riding for 5 hours in the taxi, Lady started unpacking and repacking. She is leaving again in the morning. On the way here, her plans for me fell through, and so did her back-up plans. Praise the Lord! She made a call, and I am going to stay with Christy at the Children's Home around the corner! A lot of the kids are gone visiting relatives for the school break. But Christy and Pearly are there. Lady has already packed all my stuff. I will leave before she does, I think. I'd rather be going with her, but she is leaving the country, so I can't go. Thailand quarantines, unless you are just passing through, so I am not going this time. Someone has to take care of those kids, right?

It's a Dog's Life

Ahhh, nice comforter! I didn't want to getup this morning. I like for Lady to scratch me for a good long while before I get up. I need to get my blood circulating! Tonight is our last night here. We're going home tomorrow. In a car. On Lady's lap. Four hours of getting scratched. If she stops, I just nudge her hand or lick it. That usually works. Of course, it is a very winding road around up the mountain. It's tiring for the humans. The roads aren't great. But I'll be on Lady's lap. That's where I belong.

So, can you see why I prefer the bed? Yes, that's my Pooh rug, and my squeaky tree. Yes, the heater keeps me warm. Yes, it helps my back for me to be still, but no, I don't prefer it. Remember, I'm not a crate-trained dog. I usually only get in there when I fly. Lady says I have been super good this week. She is so proud of me. I'm such a trooper, whatever that means. Well, I didn't bark, pee the bed, poop on the floor, whine in my crate, or bite anybody as we walked by. Maybe that's what she means by good. She gave me Beggin' Bacon Strips. Yum!

Better!

Both of us had a pretty good day. Lady quit making fast trips to the you-know-where, and didn't throw up so far today. She sure is tired after she carries me to take care of business though. So, today it was back in the crate for me. I was quite vocal about it when Lady left me this morning. But when she left again after lunch, I didn't make a peep. I didn't cry from pain, either! I got to have room service last night, and left-overs today. Cliff brought me chicken MacNuggets!
Thanks for thinking of us! Even Grandma and Grandpa called to check on us!

Sick

Not me...I'm fine. Boy am I glad I didn't share any of the spaghetti and salad Lady ate last night! She tried to go to classes this morning but came back in a hurry. Poor Lady! I have been a super sweet boy, not asking for anything. Thank the Lord she had already taken me out this morning before she really got so sick. When she's through getting rid of all the bad food, she'll feel better. She could barely help me write my blog. Now she wants to sleep again...after she gets back from the you-know-where!

Hotel Life

Lady and I are staying in a nice hotel, although the room is pretty small. Lady is taking some Hindi classes. I continued to be home-schooled; I don't go to class. I stay in my crate while Lady goes to class. I don't like it but I don't complain. Lady is SO proud of me. I am getting the rest my back needs, and not complaining. I sure am glad to get out of my box at lunch and after class. Then we go out again, for some fresh air and to take care of business. We spend the whole evening together, just like at home. I have my own blanket, my own rug, and my own dishes. So, it's okay here. I'm walking better and I am not crying.
The hotel people didn't want to clean the room. Lady wondered how they could be afraid of a dog in a Pooh coat INSIDE A CRATE. They finally agreed. She is just thankful they let me stay here. I've been a very good boy. I had chicken Mc Nuggets for dinner. Yum!

New Year, New Adventures!

Happy New Year, my friends -even you humans. I'm starting the new year with a bad back and a new adventure! Lady didn't want to leave me when she went to another city for language classes, so she called the hotel and got permission to bring me. She brought my crate. She says i need crate rest. Oh boy. At least she brought my toys and my blankie and my clothes. It is warmer here than in our city but it is still cold. Our room has a heater, so I am happy. I was fine this morning until after I walked Lady. Then my hind legs just gave out and i cried-loudly, when she picked me up. I did fine on the four hour taxi ride, except when Lady moved me. I like car rides. I sat on my blankie on Lady's lap as we wound around the mountains. It's a rough ride, but I don't get motion sick. We saw lots of humans puking on the side of the road. We saw lots of monkeys, goats, and of course cows. We had clear blue skies most of the way, then we got into clouds, and it was gray.
Here's my first photo of the new year, at the park with my downstairs neighbors.
I love just hanging out in the sun, even though it was not even 40 degrees!
May you have lots of sunbeams in which to bask this year!
Padma likes me. I make her smile.
Let me hear from you, okay?

New Year's Eve

Lady says it is the last day of 2010. This is the year I moved from the south to the north of India. I didn't like New Delhi, but I like where I live now -except when it is cold and wet -like the last three days. It snows, but it doesn't stick. It just melts. Yesterday, it was thundering and lightning. I hate that. Scares a little dog. So, I didn't want to go out to take care of business. Lady put on my raincoat and carried me out. I wouldn't budge, so she took me to the tree to take care of my business, but I didn't finish the deal. Nope, one clap of thunder and I am ready to get back where it's warm.
So, our international guests came back for dinner. The Korean girl stayed all day because she didn't want to go out in the nasty weather either. Smart girl. It was her birthday, so she and Lady decorated the house, made balloon bouquets, and a birthday cake. The Australian, Indian, and American guys came back for dinner. They brought Chinese! I had chicken fried rice, momos, and a piece of chicken tikka. But just as they arrived I had an accident. My hind legs weren't working so well. My guests saw the evidence on my blanket. I was SO embarrassed. I waddled over and hid under the table. Lady didn't scold me, she just cleaned it up. She felt sorry for me, but she reminded me that she tried to take me out. And I didn't ask to go out. It was an accident. My first here. SO embarrassing with guests.
JeeYoung really likes me. She gave me a lot of attention. She spoke Korean to me. I understand Korean because I lived with two Korean boys for six months in 2009. I spent last Christmas with them. JeeYoung left this morning. I got up to see her off, then went back to bed. It's another yucky day, but I took care of business when Lady took me out. It's another bad back day. The roads are treacherous for motorcycles when it is wet and snowy like today, so the guys are not coming. Just me and Lady. We're having veggie burgers and soup for dinner. We're staying near the heaters. Last night the power went off. Hope it doesn't go off tonight! At least there's no thunder or lightning! Praise the Lord for that! Be safe tonight!

More Guests

We had an interesting bunch for dinner tonight: an Australian, an Indian, a Korean, and two Americans. Lady fed them (sort of) Italian food. I really like the Korean girl. She looks Chinese and reminds me of home. She also scratches me in the right spots.
So, I put myself to bed while Lady was getting ready for bed. She laughed and took my picture. I don't know why. Woke me up.
Here's a shot of that baby telling me good-bye.
So, I convinced Lady that I was better. She's still restricting my activity and making me rest my back -and stay warm. And, I get my feel-better pills, hidden in a piece of cheese. Like I don't know! I just like the cheese. Better than getting it shoved down my throat. Its just a little pill, and I only get half. Anyway, it does help me feel better.

Monday, December 27, 2010

Better!

Well, I'm not crying this morning! Lady gave me a feel better pill last night. Yesterday our house guests left so Lady just sat on the floor with me by the heater and we watched movies. She wanted to keep me still and warm, and not leave me. I do much better after I have warmed up and rested. We had lasagna from the freezer for dinner -in the living room. Lady was tired of Indian food and missed traditional Christmas cooking. I am enjoying my Beggin Bacon Strips I got for Christmas, and my new squeaky toys. Lady has to carry me to take care of business, so she's getting a good workout. I might have to go back to the vet today. We'll see how I do. If they give me a steroid shot, I can't take the feel-better pills. Right now they are helping me. Lady doesn't have much faith in the vets here so far. We may have to take a long trip to see another one. I love car rides! And buses, and scooters, and auto rick-shaws, and pedi-cabs... not so much flying because I have to be crated. I just like to go!

Merry Christmas, Friends!

My day didn't start of so well. I couldn't support my hind legs. I was hurting. Lady gave me a feel better pill, carried me to take care of business, and put me in the small, heated room with no furniture (so I can't hurt myself again). I didn't even feel like opening my stocking! That's a first. But after Lady and our guests came home from church, I was ready for Christmas gifts!!
I don't feel good.
Oh, boy! My favorite! Beggin' Bacon Strips! I unwrapped these super fast!

Lady took video of me opening up my Christmas tree toy. I LOVE squeaky toys!

 Tug-o-war! My favorite game!

Feeling much better now.
Merry Christmas! God bless you!

My Party for the Children's Home Kids

I'm having a bad back day. But there's nothing that will cheer a little guy up than having a bunch of guests...who eat meat. The kids came for my Christmas Eve party at 3:30 pm and I walked them home at 8:00. They dropped plenty of good stuff, and of course, Lady had special treats for me. She ordered Chinese! I'm Chinese, you know, so I like fried rice, noodle and dumplings.

They played lots of games after Lady told the Reason for the Season. They made crafts. They made a huge mess!
Hosting a party for 15 kids is a lot of work. I'm pooped.
Because all the kids got gifts, Lady let me open one of my gifts tonight. I don't need any help. I am expert at opening any type of package.
It's a squeaky reindeer!!! I love it! Don't even think about trying to take it from me.
Lady made a bunch of cakes and cookies for dessert.

That baby arrived about 6:00 with her parents and her aunty -four more for the party! Lady was NOT happy that she was on her laptop. Her dad took this picture and thought it was cute. Lady didn't.
Well, I better get to sleep so Santa can come. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas! Please let me hear from you!

Packing Presents

This is what our living room looks like when Lady prepares presents for kids. This is our first year in this city, and the gifts are for the kids at Grace Home for Children, around the corner. You've seen their pictures from when they've come to visit me. We're having a party for them.
I wasn't much help tonight. I was naughty and I am paying for it. I never jump on the furniture when Lady is home. But while she was shopping I jumped up on the sofa and the chairs. By the time Lady got home I was hurting. I cried. I left evidence, so she figured out why. She gave me a feel better pill, and turned on my heater. So, I mainly helped in a supervisory role this year.

Lots of stuff! Aunty Yvonne sent cups and kazoos and paddles and stickers!

Finished. I will help with the party.

Washer Fixed

Lady was so happy to finally see the Whirlpool engineer come. So was I. I greeted him enthusiastically. Lady's not sure why, except that I really like men. Neither of the guys spoke English. Made it interesting. So, Lady started to try to catch up on her pile of laundry, but she can only wash as much as she can find a place to dry! It's going to take awhile.
I think we're having another party. Oh boy. But I want to open some gifts! Of the ones under the tree, none have a smell that says it's mine!

Sunday, December 19, 2010

Pooped!

The party's over and I wiped out! It's a lot of work not getting stepped on, greeting all my guests, cleaning up the food they drop, seeing them to the door...
This little one was better today than yesterday. I was VERY good today. I let them all pet me. Lady fussed at the girls who were teasing me and pretending they had treats for me when they didn't. She stopped what she was doing and went and got me one of my treats. She told them they were being mean. They dropped a LOT of stuff on our rugs. There were almost 30 humans in our house today. As soon as they left, Bill and Rae came! Full house!
I feel ridiculous, but it gets me one of the special treats the girls made for me!
Busted! The little human wasn't supposed to give me this one!
I wouldn't keep this on long. Lady's got to put ties on it. I have gotten too fat for the velcro tabs to meet. Aunt Debbie and the kids brought this to me from the US.
In my younger days, I used to chase the snowballs and disrupt the game, but not anymore! I took a snooze while they played the snowball toss game.
Our living room was FULL. Lady rearranged the furniture an brought in a new mattress for extra seating. I really like the new mattress. Lady let me put my blankie on it and lie by the heater. Now, someone is sleeping on it. Uncle Bill and Aunty Rae came and brought Rae's brother with them. They are on their way home back to apple country. They will be back in a few days to spend Christmas with us. They are bringing that baby, too.
When do I get to open any presents? I've been good.

Big Mess

Some of the neighborhood girls came to help Lady bake for the party tomorrow. Boy did they make a mess. I get scolded when I make such a mess. Two of them brought little sisters with them and they drove me crazy. They took my chew bones and chased me around the house with them. They teased me with a stuff snowman I KNOW I am not supposed to play with. I hid under the table. Lady told them to leave me alone or I might bite. She praised me for being tolerant of two three-year-olds! They are coming back tomorrow. Oh boy.
I didn't make a mess, but I did get in trouble today. When Lady came home for shopping I was out of my sweater and I had rearranged the pillows on the sofa. I also pulled my big yellow blanket up on the sofa. I forgot to pull it down again before Lady came home. I am not supposed to jump up on the sofa because of my back. Well, I needed to see out the living room window. I also pulled off the cushion covers. That's how Lady knew I had been looking out the window. The power was off so Lady was concerned I would get too cold. She wasn't happy that I was out of my sweater. Well, I was sunning in the big window. I was good. I didn't open any packages under the tree, or the gift bags for tomorrow.
It's gonna be crazy tomorrow, but I know all the big girls. It's the little humans like the ones today that drive me nuts. I will try to be sweet. I will be a good host, as always. I can't wait to have the special crackers the girls made for me today. They made Wheat Thins, so they made some plain wheat crackers for me, and cut them with the people cookie cutter and the bear cookie cutter!
We have power tonight so I am cozy and ready for bed!

Ho Ho Ho

Just staying warm. Lady got a package from Grandma and Grandpa. She left it in the brown paper and put it under the tree. The guys came over to have Christmas with us. They were opening presents. Lady opened he present. So, the one under the tree must be for me. I started opening it. Justin noticed and ratted on me. Turns out it isn't for me. I felt left out. Every Christmas I get gifts. St. Nick comes and fills my stocking. Lady gives me a gift too. When is Christmas? We had a party. We're having a big one Saturday night for the girls, the moms, and their families. We've been working all day getting ready. Lady bought a mattress for the floor for extra seating. She put my blankie on it so I can use it too. She put my heater near the mattress. Nice and cozy!
I walked too much last night and was in pain this morning. Lady gave me a feel better pill. I've just been taking it easy. I took Lady to see Shrutee. I might stay with her while Lady is out of the country in January. She already told me she has to go. Something about her visa. I wish Jerry could come back and stay with me. Gotta go help Lady makes some more stuff for Saturday.

Lady, Me and Our Jesus Tree

In my other Christmas photo, I showed you my Around the World tree. This is Lady's Jesus Tree. All of the ornaments have something to do with the Life, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus. After all, Christmas IS the celebration of His birthday, right? Sooo, He should get His own tree. We'll even have a birthday cake. Of course, mine will be different. Lady makes my cake with beef or chicken flavors!  I get Christmas cookies, too! Lady makes them special for me. I'm not allowed to have the sugary ones. Well, I sneak them sometimes or eat the ones the babies drop. Speaking of dropping, Lady was making lasagna today for our Christmas party tonight. She dropped cheese on the floor! Yum!
Neighbor ladies came to our house this morning. They were going to make a cake, but the power went off. No heaters. Cold. So, they made chocolate balls from Sweetened Condensed Milk, cocoa powder and butter. You cook it over the stove. They rolled the balls in sprinkles or coconut. They really liked that. They left a BIG mess. Lady has to clean it up before our party. Well, I better be going to help Lady get ready!

Pallu Didn't Come

Pallu's mom and dad came last night but they left Pallu with her grandmother. Lady had baby-proofed the living room and put her toys out. I still wasn't allowed to play with them. I keep watching my stocking. It's still flat. Two others are fat though.
Pallu's folks were in time for a big dinner and Sunday worship time. They lit three candles this time. The first was for the prophets, the candle of Hope. The second was the candle of Bethlehem, the candle of peace, and the third was for the Shepherds, the candle of love. Lady made candle holders from flower pots and painted "Hope," "Peace," and "Love" on them. Our living room is still cold so the guys wrapped their feet in blankets! You know that fudge Lady and the girls made Saturday? Gone. But Lady made more today -chocolate fudge with crushed peppermint candies on the top. The guys are coming back tomorrow to have an early Christmas with us because they are going out of town Wednesday.
Rae took one of my sweaters to make a new one for me. She can keep that one. The legs are too long and it is very difficult for me to get in and out of. I do look dashing in it however. Rae made colorful socks with a big toe in them! She also made a head covering that most of the ladies where in the cold areas here in the mountains. It is colorful. Lady loves it. I sure hope my new sweater is not that colorful. Even Bill's socks have colorful designs on them. Not for this guy.

Still Busy

Lady worked all day trying to get the guest room ready. She had to move a bed from the small room to the guest room and make a big bed like ours. Usually we let Bill and Rae stay in our room, but it is too cold. The guest room gets nice and warm. The electrician came last night and fixed the fried plugs. We could have heat last night! We gave our fuzzy blanket to Bill and Rae. That baby didn't come but she will be here for Christmas. Lady is so excited! She found a bed warmer she didn't know she had inherited. It was with the blankets. We had one in Ch!na. They are GREAT as long as you have power! You just put it under your sheet and plug it in! No more cold bed!
Cliff and Justin came for dinner to night as well. I had a big dinner! Of course I was on clean-up duty while lady cooked, so I had already had my appetizers. They guys really liked Lady's peanut butter fudge. I am not allowed to have any.
Last night the baby from downstairs came to visit. I make her laugh! Lady has baby toys for her. I wanted one of them, but got scolded. Okay already. Now I know they are for the babies.

Here are our downstairs neighbors. The baby really likes coming up to see me.
Here I am by my heater and on both of my blankets. The neighborhood girls came over for a story and crafts. They also made that fudge I mentioned. It's really easy. I watched. Take a 12 oz. jar of crunchy peanut butter, 1 1/2 cups of semisweet chocolate and put them in a microwaveable bowl. Heat for 1 minute then stir. Heat again for about 1 minute until melted. Stir in one can of sweetened condensed milk. Stir until smooth. Pour into a buttered 8 X 8 pan and chill till firm. We didn't even have to refrigerate ours. It got firm in an hour! Then just cut it up into little squares.
Here are some of the girls working on their craft at my dining table. The girl in pink is afraid of me, and if I come by her feet she either gets up or lifts them up. How can anybody be afraid of a little dog in a red coat?

Busy Days

It's been crazy at my house! Lady went to Delhi and left me with Jerry's twin, Sheila. Then, Uncle Joey shows up and moves almost all the furniture out! I didn't know what to think. But, my stocking is still up, and my trees are still here, so all is okay. In a few days, Lady returned and is helping me catch up.
Here's my Christmas photo for 2010. Aunty June and Uncle Joey brought the Ho-HoHo sweater from the states. Thank you! It's warm and I look dashing -well, Lady thinks so. That's our "Around the World" tree and my stocking in the background.
Close-up of me!
It's quite cold these days for a little dog, so I need a sweater every day. My hind legs are still wobbly but I am not in pain. I walk pretty well, but I just stop when I have had enough and ask Lady to pick me up. Our big room is too hard to heat so we are in the smallest room in the house with the heater on. I get to lie by the window and look out over the 'hood and the mountains while Lady works on her laptop. We are having some electrical outlet problems so we can't heat the bedroom yet. We have a gas heater but the gas man hasn't come. The washer engineer came again today. I didn't bark. But, he has to order yet another part and won't be back for a week! Poor Lady has to hand wash so many clothes, and no dryer. It takes SO long for clothes to dry now.
We've had lots of folks coming by to see us. The big girls came Wednesday, and the Moms came Thursday. The baby downstairs came ot see me as well. I make her laugh. Pallu is coming Sunday. Oh boy.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh happy day! Lady came back early this morning! Aunty June sent me a new hoodie, which Lady promptly put on me. I survived my stay home alone, with our landlady taking care of me. But she told Lady I tipped over the heater and now it doesn't work. So, I had no heat at night. I had lots of blankies. It does so work. Aunty Meenu just didn't connect it right, and I am not saying who tipped it over. Don't worry, the elements are protected and it has automatic shut-off. It is not hot to the touch. Lady doesn't use those kind around me.

I have many things to be thankful to God for this year:
1. My new home in the Himalayas
2. Lady is with me this year.
3. I have a new cousin named Casey.
4. The vet says I don't have IVDD.
5. I can walk and I am not in pain.
6. I have lots of humans who love me.

I sincerely hope you have a very happy Thanksgiving this year and are able to spend it with family and friends. Don't forget your non-human friends. Thank you for reading my blog.
