I disemboweled my duck today,
It won't be squeaking anymore.
Feet and fluff and squeaker lie scattered upon my floor.
You may think I didn't like it
because it's belly I tore.
Not true, I tell you! Now I like even more!
And lo, the duck was not the first
to lose its guts this way;
there's Pooh, Scooby, Santa and Gator,
Red Elephant who died of play.
I love the stuffin's out of my toys,
I love them, I really do.
A bit of polyester,
a stitch here and there
will make them as good as new!

Very good! Very good!
ReplyDeleteAmazing Marley that after all that traveling and hosting guests, you still had the energy to destuff your duck. You the man!
ReplyDeleteI think you should publish a book of poems.
Hugs,
Lily Belle
Well done, Marley. We have a few stitched and modified stuffies here, too. Our duck is just a patch of fur.

Marley!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you gave it too much love!
I hope your special duck will be fixed!
Take care
Kisses and hugs

You are a Bard Marley! Deccy x
ReplyDeleteWhy, thank you, Deccy!
DeleteYou have a good Lady, she fixes your toys and writes poems. My Lady throws my gutless animals in the garbage.
ReplyDeleteBuddy Boy
Lady saves all the stuffings and uses them in crafts with the girls! Remember the bunnies they made at Easter? I provided the stuffing! I have a basketful of gutless toys.
