Today is the 63rd Republic Day for India. Republic Day commemorates the date (Jan 26, 1950) on which
the Constitution of India came into force replacing the Government of
India Act 1935 as the governing document of the country. They
had parades and big celebrations in the capital city of New Delhi. Our
city probably has some celebrating up on the Ridge, but we're staying
home.
Lady read where even dogs were included:
"Every dog has its day", so goes the proverbial saying and though the
sniffing dogs are omnipresent at the Parade, forming part of the Delhi
Police Bomb Disposal Squad and NSG too relying on man’s best friend to
secure the Rajpath, this year’s Parade gave them their due, with the
dogs displaying their skills in a lotus formation and a grand salute by
the leader sitting on a tableau of the Army’s Remount Veterinary Corps

So, here's to all the working dogs in India. I hope you get good treats and good treatment for all you do for your country!
Even tho you stayed home, did you and Lady celebrate? I know how much you like having a party.
ReplyDeleteHow nice that they celebrate the dog's! I think that is great.
Hugs,
Lily Belle
