MONKEY BUSINESS

You should see how fast Lady can move when she hears the monkeys on the balconies! She hollers at me to get in the house and she quickly closes the balcony screen doors. There was quite a ruckus! Lady tried to get snaps but they were jumping around too fast. I knocked over one of her new flower pots. Oops. So, my sunbeam time was curtailed today.
We've had very strong winds, no earthquakes, but thunder and rain. Our highs are only 67 and lows at night are in the low 40's. Lady made me wear a jacket again to go out.
Padma came up to play for a bit. She tried to give me her Milky Bar. Lady intervened. But I got my star doggie treats.

Monkey Business

It's been a nice Sunday. Lady went to church, then a friend came for a late birthday lunch. Lady ordered from the local dhabba, which I love! We had yellow dal, rice, chapattis, and mixed veggies which has paneer (the local cheese) in it! I had seconds.
After lunch we heard a commotion outside. MONKEYS! And, not just any monkeys, these are gray langurs, the BIG monkeys. They run off those common monkeys.

This one is running from our neighbor's stick!

Uh oh, don't get on that motorcycle, or as they say here, bike!
 Thinking about a getaway!
These guys are REALLY big.
Here comes the posse! This street dog climbed onto the car to try to get to the money!
 Back up!

I was going nuts on the balcony, wanting to get into the fray. Of course, Lady sqahed that idea. Well, I squashed her geraniums. She was not happy!
The Gray Langurs were used during the 2010 Commonwealth Games to keep the common monkeys away from the guests! You can read about it in this article:

Attempted Kidnapping

You're not going to believe what happened this morning! Lady came just in the nick of time to save my baby, the one Jerry gave me for my birthday! What? You thought it was me being kidnapped? Nope. Who were the baby snatchers? Two monkeys. I was out on our balcony watching the world go by with my newest baby. I told Lady friendlies were here. She thought someone was at the door, but I was facing the balcony and not barking. There were two monkeys sitting there, and one was holding onto my baby! The screen door was open because I had just been out there. Lady told them in her very firm authoritative voice (she is a teacher, you know) to drop it! They did, and ran to our other balcony. Lady saved the day! She is most concerned that they don't bite me. And she doesn't want them running loose in our house!
The culprits trying to make a getaway.
 Sitting on our balcony.

Monkeys are very very populous in our city, and common in the 'hood, but we don't want them in our house! They bite and steal. Bad monkey!
