Well, Lady went back to school at the local university today. She's teaching sophmores. Here, they're doing a speaking activity. Lady told them all about me. I usually get to go visit her classes at least once.  Posted by Picasa

Hmmm. I wonder what's down there? Posted by Picasa

Here's a close-up of the lotus blossoms in the pond. They're really very pretty. I try to get closer to the edge to explore, but Lady pulls me back.  Posted by Picasa

Saturday night, we went ot the park for our English Corner, as usual. But, we didn't see any other little dogs. Not usual. Later, a friend told Lady that there were banners and signs posted about little dogs not being allowed in public places. Lady was very nervous about getting me home safely. But, we did. I don't think she's going to take me to EC anytime soon. I'm enjoying the lotus blossoms. Posted by Picasa

I love the new toy Betty gave me. I haven't had a new one in a long time. I don't know why.  Posted by Picasa

This is Micah's cousin and aunt. They live in the farmhouse with Micah's grandparents. Amy just got the grandmother a job in the city cleaning her school so that the little girl can go to a better school tahn the one in the city.  Posted by Picasa

In a typical farm house, the pigs are kept in one rrom of the house. That's where the "potty" is as well, a space between the pig pens.Their home had no running water. They cooked in huge woks over a wood fire. Posted by Picasa

Micah was plum tuckered out! To keep the dirt from falling off the walls, they cover the mud bricks with old newspapers and posters.  Posted by Picasa

Lady took Kristin back to her city. She went to Micah's other grandma's farmhouse. They made their bricks from mud and straw. Posted by Picasa

The military concert was a huge event with some very famous Chinese performers. Posted by Picasa

Lady liked the soldier-dancers who did an Irish clog dance. Posted by Picasa

Here's Kristin, Michael, Skye, and Frannie at the military concert. Each section wore a different color. 10,000 soldiers and guests attended. Posted by Picasa

Just Lady and Me

It seems as if we have had a houseful all summer. Lady liked having the summer teachers here, and then Amy, Kristin and the rest. But on Monday afternoon, Lady and Kristin took a plane back to Kristin's city. I went to visit Betty. Soon she was right back home. Wednesday, we went to dinner with our English Corner crowd to send blessings with Jerry as he returns to his city. His wife, Jane, is due to deliver twins next week. Jerry said that in China, boy/girl twins are considered an extra special blessing. Lady and her friends wrote blessings on cards, and also words of advice!
I got in a fight last Sunday. This long-haired yappy-dog got in my face. His human didn't have him in a harness. Jenny was holding my leash, but Lady had to take over. I got a hold of a mouthful of hair on his neck and wouldn't let go. Lady yanked hard and lifted me off the ground, but I held tight. She was yelling at me. She finally pulled me off, and the old man picked up his dog and walked away. Lady checked me over. The other dog had scratched my eye and it was red, but I'm okay. I got a time-out until I calmed down. Bet that dog doesn't mess with me again. Sunday night, the twins and Michael came over to get Lady and Kristin. They all put on orange shirts and went to a military concert. I stayed home. Lady said the concert was awesome. She took photos of course, so I will post some.
Lady's got a cold. I'm taking care of her though. She's been busy with meetings about school stuff, and another group of teachers coming for National Day. We hung out and watched TV shows today. I made sure Lady got outside in the sunshine this morning, and in the cool of the evening.
Betty sent me home with a new toy. I loved the stuffin's out of it.
I checked my mail, but no messages.

Barbara's son came to English Corner. He squirted me with the water gun, but Lady said I couldn't squirt back. I couldn't even bite him! Kristin's okay. She gives me treats, and she is sufficiently messy enough that I hang out on her side under the dinner table. Posted by Picasa

At English Corner, I just make myself comfortable. on the sofa. I am sporting my new red collar the White Coat gave me. He probably gave it to me to ease his guilt. Jenny, Goldie, and Julia are chatting away.  Posted by Picasa

Lady took me back to the White Coats today. Can you believe it? Again? It was pretty crowded today. They were doing surgery on a Pug who had too many babies inside. They couldn't come out. Sadly, they didn't make it. This little guy had a broken front leg. He didn't even cry.Boy I did when that White Coat stuck me again!  Posted by Picasa

All finished! Kristin doesn't have to stay in the bathroom under the heat lamp.I always let Lady know when I am dry, and she lets me out! Posted by Picasa

Just because Kristin had her hair washed, they seemed to think I needed my hair washed as well! All we had to do is go outside, because it is raining! But no, I have to use shampoo and creme rinse.  Posted by Picasa

They act so silly! Jeremiah is really good when his mom isn't here. WHen she is, he throws major temper tantrums if he doesn't get his way. I hide under my coffee table.  Posted by Picasa

Many children join in the lessons. Other kids rent little cars to drive around, or play in the fountain. I stayed home and watched Odie in "Garfield." Lady says I dance as well as Odie.  Posted by Picasa

Jeremiah is taking lessons. He refused to wear his helmet. Posted by Picasa

Last night, Lady and Kristin had dinner with Jenny and Jeremiah. After dinner they walked to the park and went skating. Too many wheels around for a little dog like me! Posted by Picasa

Jenny brought us all dumplings for lunch! I patiently await the ones that will inevitably fall to the floor! Posted by Picasa

We had a houseful of kids yesterday! Betty and Kylie brought a friend, Frank. Jeremiah came again. I am seeking shade! It is almost 80 degrees out! For a little black dog, that is very hot! Posted by Picasa
