A SONG FOR THE NEW YEAR

(to the tune of Auld Lang Syne)
Should old offenses be forgot and never brought to mind
Should old offenses be forgot just to be so very kind
Forget the messes on the floor
And forbidden eaten food
Forget the scratches on the door
And my smells that are so crude.

And surely you'll buy your bone, my friend
And surely I'll buy mine
And take a bowl of kibbles yet
Just to be so very kind.

Forget the messes in the bed
Forget the deaded toys
Forget the naughty things I said
And forget all of the noise.

And there's a paw my trusty friend
And give me your paw, too
We'll drink a bowl of milk or soup
To our Blogville fur-rends, true!

To all our true Blogville fur-rends
And to our humans, too
We'll drink a bowl of milk or soup
To our Blogville fur-rends, true!
Happy New Year 2014, all my Blogville furrends and their humans!
Love,
Marley

GETTING READY FOR THE BLOGSVILLE OLYMPICS

Soooon! Very soooon! The Olympics are coming! So I wrote a song:
WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS
by Freddie Mercury and Marley
I've heard the news
It's almost time
I'm training hard
in the summertime.
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
But I won't give up in the Blogsville Olympics
I'm coming through!!!!!
WE are the champions, my furrend!
And we'll keep on trying to the end!
We are the champions! We are the champions!
No time for biters
'cause we are the champions
of Blogsville!
I've taken my stuffies
ANd all my balls
We'll all compete and have fun
And then thank you all.
I've practiced digging,
couch potato peeling, too
And I've been de-stuffing as much as I can
I ain't gonna lose!
We are the champions, my furrend
And we'll keep on trying to the end!
We are the champions! We are the champions!
No time for biters
'cause we are the champions
of Blogsville!!!

 Breakfast of champions: pancakes!
Reading my Bible and praying to do my best!
 Dinner of champions: cheese quesadillas

Furrends, it is important to get enough rest, too.
Well, I've got to make my photo for the parade of athletes sometime today. We have rain all week, a bit hard to train outdoors. This is monsoon season!!
Happy training! OOO! Rhymes with raining! I feel another song coming on!

I LET YOU CALL ME SWEETHEART

(Original Words by Beth Slater Whitson, Music by Leo Friedman, adapted by Marley)
I let you call me "Sweetheart," cuz you feed and walk me, too.
I let you call me "Baby" cuz you love me true.
Keep the treats a comin' and the stuffed toys, too.
I let you call me "Sugar Booger," "Darlin'," too.

I let you call me "Good Boy," and "My Sweet Angel," too.
I let you dress me up and take my picture, I do.
Keep the treats a comin' and the stuffed toys, too.
I"ll let you call me anything, cuz
I love you, too!
 Love,
Marley

MONDAY MONDAY

(With credit to the Mamas and the Papas)

Monday Monday, it's okay for me,
Monday Monday, it's not quite all I hoped it would be
Oh Monday morning, Monday morning couldn't wait to pee
Cuz Sunday evening I drank too much, too much for me
Monday Monday, I go out to play
Monday Monday, all the cows they got in my way
Oh Monday morning, Monday morning the cows chase me
Oh Monday Monday, my short little legs are failing me

Every other day, every other day,
Every other day of the week is fine, yeah
But whenever Monday comes, but whenever Monday comes
You can find me poopin' all of the time

Monday Monday, It's okay for me,
Monday Monday, it's not quite all I hoped it would be
Oh Monday morning, Monday morning couldn't guarantee
That Monday evening those cows they wouldn't be chasin' me.

Out in the Back Yard

(to the tune of Up on the Housetop)
Out in the back yard Kitty cat claws
Out jumps jolly Santa Paws
In through the doggie door with lots of toys
All for good doggies Christmas joys!
Ho Ho Ho! Who wouldn’t go?
Ho Ho Ho Who wouldn’t go
Out in the back yard Ruff! Ruff! Ruff!
In through the doggie door with Christmas stuff!

It's My Walk by Marley and Diana Ross

I can cover up my poop if it's on the path
I play it safe and walk with a harness
And if walking for myself is what I'm guilty of
Go on and punish me-
I'll still be free!

It's my walk!
I'll go just where I please
I hope you'll understand
This time is just for me,
Because it's my walk!
With no apologies
I've given up the heel
To wet bushes and the trees.
 But now it's my walk
If I don't walk so straight and steady
At least you know
I'll move when I'm good and ready!

So I'll let it rain
Cause the rain ain't gonna hurt me
I've got my raincoat on
The rain can't stop my peepee.

It's my walk!
With no room for compromise
Unless you're running late,
I'll hurry up and rise.
And now it's my walk!
Just let me choose my way
But you can keep me safe,
To walk another day.
It's my walk!
It's my walk!
