TRIP TO THE VET

This is my after bath dance. Just look at my fuzzy coat! Remember how I looked in October? I was spotty polka dotty and very thin-haired. You could see my whole back skin! I've been on thyroid meds, and I used a soap recommended by a friend whose doxie also had thin hair. Lady told my Uncle Roger he should try the soap on his head!

My undercoat came in brown and gray!
Well, I've been biting my butt and the base of my tail, so Lady gave me a bath. I haven't been scratching anywhere else. It didn't help, so off to the Vet's today. I needed to have a blood test to see how my thyroid levels are now. And I had to get a worm pill. PTL, the vet got my blood draw on the first prick, and not the third, as in times previous! But dog, did I holler when he expressed my anal glands- right in Lady's ear. He said they were blocked. Oweee! I had to get more Flexadin for my joints. I didn't cry from joint pain all winter, so we think the Flexadin really helped. I also take Salmon oil, which I love.
Lady thinks she wouldn't be able to afford my vet care in the US (but she'd find a way no matter what). Today's bill including 1.5 kgs of my fat chow came to almost $100. My Flexadin alone is $29.00. We think it is worth this amount, because I didn't cry this year. My Royal Canin fat chow is  $15.00 for only 1.5 kgs. My salmon oil is $12. The blood tests cost $27.00. He's checking my liver and kidney function as well. I also got worm pills for $2.00, and my visit cost $6. Yes, we are so thankful my vet bills are affordable here. We are supposed to get the results of my blood test this evening. I'll let you know.

  1. It is cheaper there. And who cares what colour the fur is when it comes in! It's IN, that 's what counts.

We are SURE we'd love Salmon oil!

  5. You look mighty fluffy there Marley! We think you look fantastic. We know that going to the Vet is NO fun at all. They poke and prod and you have every right to scream and yell. We do it all the time. We pray all the tests come back with good news. Vet care in the US is very expensive indeed, but like you said, our human's always find a way to pay for it.

    Love ya,
