SURPRISE

I had a surprise visit from Aunty Pam and my buddies Joseph and Titus. They brought a cool gift they got from Lady! Lady said it is a gift from Ezzie, Kira, and Wyatt!! Aunty Pam saw my Lady in Thailand! She said Lady misses me too much. Lady showed my book to everybody. We'll, it was good to hear Lady is doing okay. Aunty Pam said she'd take some photos for Lady. I had fun playing with my new tug-o-war toy with the little humans. Boys are fun, but I love Marissa.

EXTENDED SLEEPOVER

I knew something was up when more than one suitcase came out. Lady packed two great big ones and a small one. We cleaned the house, changed all the sheets, emptied the fridge, and slept in the living room. John came early the next morning. Lady put me in my raincoat and carried me oh so tightly out to his car for a ride. Only Lady didn't get in. Now, I love to go for a ride, but I didn't know Lady wasn't coming with us. I waited by the door but she didn't come. I know what that means. I'm here with Marisa until Lady comes back to get me. And she always comes back. I think it may be awhile.
                                                          Lady's three Valentines!

Home Again

Lady, Tyler, and Erin all came to get me at Sarah's house. I got to ride home in the auto rickshaw. It was cold bt Lady wrapped my blankie around me. I love riding in the auto rickshaw's because they are so open and I can see and smell everything. Lady brought me treats from her trips. She even met a cute little doxie puppy, but said she is way too young for me.
Here she is helping her little human take a nap.
Here she's tired from helping her other little human with math.
Maybe someday she will have a blog of her own. Puppies sure do sleep a lot!
Of course Lady and I are glad to be back in our own bed! We have friends coming from Apple Country and our old city! That is, if the roads are clear of snow! They've had a bunch! My little friends Tate and Wyatt played in the snow. Well, I don't miss it. I like the sunbeams.

BIRTHDAY

Today is Lady's birthday and I can't be with her. I know she is missing me. I am usually the first one to lick her face and wish her happy birthday. I don't share her chocolate cake, but I help her celebrate nonetheless. She is far away in Bombay! Here are pictures she sent me from the coast.

FRIENDS

The big street dog on our lane is not nice to me, but the three puppies LOVE me. This is the little female.

My treat is color coordinated! Grandma sent them to me.
My little buddy Wyatt came back from America and stayed with me. I took him for a walk outside. It was his birthday.
We got him a riding car. I supervised.
Lady went on another trip, this time to Mumbai. I am at a sleepover with Marissa, Sarah, and John.  It's pretty cold here in Delhi. Lady said it is warm in Mumbai and they went to the beach!! I have never been to a beach, but I have been to that beach on a lake way up in the high mountains!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2013

This is how I choose to celebrate the New Year -hiding from all the cherry bombs and crackers! It's loud and smoky outside. Lady was invited to a party but decided to stay home with me when I started shaking. I've been at Marisa's since Thursday and got home today. Lady flew away to visit two families. She missed me so much she didn't want to leave me today. So, just Lady and me ringing in the New Year.
In 2012:
I didn't get bit by street dogs
got spots
didn't have back trouble
rode a horse
sat on a yak
swam at 13,000 feet
played in the snow
rode a motorcycle
went on road trips with Lady
and we moved to Delhi
made new friends
old friends came to visit
In 2013:
love Lady
have pizza nights with Lady
make new friends
share my chow and treats with the poor
be a good guest when I go for sleepovers
won't chew up Lady's stuffies or the babies' toys
protect Lady and let her know when people are coming
lie in sunbeams
take naps
eat treats
try to stay out of trouble
HAPPY NEW YEAR, FURENDS!

Happy Birthday, Jesus!

Lady went off to have Christmas Dinner with some American friends and I stayed behind to finish getting ready for our party. Lady made me wear a sweater, a Christmas collar AND the hat. I didn't keep the hat on long. Indians don't come on time, but they came. Some new friends came as well. They are doxie lovers, so I got lots of attention.

I have been waiting for weeks to yank my stocking down!
 A new Bobo!
 Christmas tree treat!

 Pizza for dinner!
Thanks, Grandma and Grandpa! I love it!
I'm worn out from all my playing and entertaining.
I hope it has been a blessed Christmas for you! It sure was for Lady and me!

IT'S CHRISTMAS EVE!!!

What a night! Tomorrow we celebrate Jesus's Birthday, and tonight Santa Paws comes!! I've been on vacation at Marisa's house. Lady flew to another city to visit some short humans. She picked me up in a taxi yesterday morning. She thought it was too cold to take an auto rickshaw. I had fun at Marisa's and she said I was a good boy. I'm going back on Wednesday night cuz Lady has another trip to go visit some more short humans. And then we will have lots of guests visiting us!
Today, we're preparing for our party tomorrow afternoon. We've invited a few neighbors so they can get to know us. Lady made gingerbread, sugar cookies and fudge. She's making us some mini pizzas, and dip, too. We wrapped lots of presents. Lady is giving the neighbors a special movie to explain the real story of Christmas - Jesus's story. And she wrapped lots of prizes for the games. I haven't smelled any gifts for me yet, but I keep checking my stocking - still flat.
I Skyped with Aunt Karen in Thailand this morning. She liked my Santa sweater.
 HO HO HO!
 MERRY CHRISTMAS, Blogville furrends!

IT CONTINUES...

Lady packed the fan with carpet cushion covers. The next morning, the rat had chewed a big hole in the carpet but didn't get in. The workers came and took off the protective cage (HA!) and put up wire mesh, like screen. The put clay on the hole previously (unsuccessfully) plugged. The next morning, more rat poop, clay bits all in the sink, second hole unplugged.
And it continues. The holes are plugged but there is a pesky booger in the house -at least one. Lady keeps hearing the scritchy scratch sounds, and when it knocks things over. Difficult to sleep. She wakes me up. Molly and Ernie, buy your tickets and come dead this rat (or rats)!
I had a bad back day. It's cold. I was naughty and jumped up and down from the sofa while Lady was in meetings. I cried. I still have spots on my skin but the hair is growing back. Lady took me to the White Coats. I had a "feel better" shot and got to ride in the auto rickshaw again. It's cold in Delhi, especially at night! I am feeling much better now. The White Coat put me on vitamins, and continued my meds for my skin.
We're counting the days down until Jesus's Birthday with my Advent calendar.  My stocking is hung but still flat. Some of the big stores are starting to have decorations up.

RAT UPDATE

We are still having rat troubles. Those pesky boogers chewed through the plastic frame of the fan and got into my dog chow, my medicine (chewed into the bottle), a bag of chocolate chips, pooped on our cup towels as well as in our plastic containers. So, yesterday they replaced the exhaust fan with a new one with a metal frame, but no cage protecting it! Lady knew the rats could get through the wires. She covered it in foil and duck tape. Just before she had to leave she heard it and saw a nose poke through the foil. She added duck tape and had to go to her meeting.then went to a meeting. The rat got into my chow. The landlord's son said he would come but didn't show. At 10:30 pm he texted and said he would come today. Of course, we've been waiting and waiting and he hasn't shown when up.  This morning, the foil was chewed through and poop all over in the cabinets. Lady is NOT HAPPY. She wants glass and no fan. No holes. I don't see them. I don't look. I can't be bothered, but I will give Lady sympathy licks.

FULL HOUSE

Sure had a fun weekend with my boys in the house!
 Tyler and a pooped Tate.
Tate playing with his dad on my bed.
We had pancakes for breakfast! It's been fun having my friends here from my old city. My happy meter wagged off the charts.
We took some photos today. Here's my Christmas portrait:

HAPPY DAY

Lady is happy. No rat poop to clean up today. The landlord sent someone to cement up the hole, and it held. So far.
I'm happy because Tate and Wyatt came over for the day! Both had poopy diapers, so good smells. I also cleaned up after their  PB&J and noodle lunch. Wyatt was acting all scared of me at first, but he finally got used to me again. I helped him have his afternoon rest as usual. Tate wasn't scared at all. I was such a good boy, helping Lady.
They are coming back with their parents tomorrow and staying for the weekend. Uncle Tyler and Aunty Erin are coming, too! And they eat meat!

My little Tater Tot! Ten months old.

SPOTS and RATS

Lady took me to the vet yesterday, by auto rickshaw. They were closed. She had another sleepless night due to the rats. This time she used half a box of aluminum foil, but the rat chewed through it, and walked into the sticky trap. But it is too small. The rat fell into the sink with a ka-BAM, and flailed around trying to get unstuck. It drug the trap around until it managed to break free, making an enormous amount of racket.  It made another mess for Lady to clean up. She called the landlord to come fix the hole.
We went back to the vet today. I look pretty bad. I have lot of spots on my back -the hair came off. I'm a spotty dog and don't look my best. I wore a hoodie to try to cover some of the bad spots. Saw my old vet. He remembered me. I weigh 10.3 kgs. He gave me two oral antibiotics (yea cheese), a new medicated shampoo, and a topical lotion. I have to go back Tuesday. We took a bicycle rickshaw home. It goes slower than the auto rickshaws and I can enjoy the scenery. My vet bill altogether was $20.41. In my old city it would have been $4.23. The big city is much more expensive. Lady's food bill is three times what is was in our other city. My dog chow costs the same.
I hope those rats don't keep Lady up tonight. She wakes me up.

RAT UPDATE

Rats! Yuck. We had them in China. They were always chewing holes in our screen to get inside. Well, a rat chewed a big hole in the wet rag Lady used to plug the hole in the glass. She found it in the sink. More poop in the drawers. It stole my dog chow. She tried to get one to fall into the trashcan by putting a piece of Pupperoni on it. The rat took the Pupperoni. She put out a sticky trap but it got out of it. She's going to try foil and duck tape tonight and bigger sticky traps. YUCK. Lady is NOT happy.

HOME!

I'm home with Lady!!
The three little humans I spent half my vacation with.
This is how I roll... I've got my eyes fixed on home.
My mattress! My blankie!
Guess what? Lady accidentally caught the RAT! Yep, it wasn't a mouse! She carefully put away any food, and also covered the traps. She didn't want to come home to a dead smell. Well... It ate a candle, a box of matches, and a LOT of butter Lady accidentally left out (covered)! Then, it climbed on top of the covered trash can and fell through! Before she left, Lady cleaned the new can with Lysol, so the rat (what was left) didn't smell gosh awful. She had a lot of chewed-up plastic and rat poop to clean up, and lots of containers to wash!!! But the rat is gone. Wouldn't want him to get my new bag of Pupperoni! Lady also went to Pet Smart and got me a new harness. It fits well and it's soft. It's called a Non-Pull Mesh Harness by Sporn. I think I might like it, but not sure yet.
Tate and Wyatt are in town and coming to visit me tomorrow!! Wyatt now calls all other dogs "Mahwee," after me! He's not yet two! Well, Lady and I are happy to be back together. We sure appreciate the two families who let me come visit with them! I had a pawsome time.
This is what Meri drew in my book!

NEW VACATION HOME

So, I survived the three short humans, and I was a "gentleman," according to my host. I didn't snap even when the middle kid sat on me. She was quite impressed with me. After all, I am eleven years old, and a dachshund. Now I am with another family new to me. They are dachshund lovers. I explored their house, checking everything out. My stuff's here, so all is okay.
Lady is in the US. She says she's learning a lot in her meetings, and having fun seeing old friends, and meeting new ones. She misses me.
