HAPPY DAY

Lady is happy. No rat poop to clean up today. The landlord sent someone to cement up the hole, and it held. So far.
I'm happy because Tate and Wyatt came over for the day! Both had poopy diapers, so good smells. I also cleaned up after their  PB&J and noodle lunch. Wyatt was acting all scared of me at first, but he finally got used to me again. I helped him have his afternoon rest as usual. Tate wasn't scared at all. I was such a good boy, helping Lady.
They are coming back with their parents tomorrow and staying for the weekend. Uncle Tyler and Aunty Erin are coming, too! And they eat meat!

My little Tater Tot! Ten months old.

SPOTS and RATS

Lady took me to the vet yesterday, by auto rickshaw. They were closed. She had another sleepless night due to the rats. This time she used half a box of aluminum foil, but the rat chewed through it, and walked into the sticky trap. But it is too small. The rat fell into the sink with a ka-BAM, and flailed around trying to get unstuck. It drug the trap around until it managed to break free, making an enormous amount of racket.  It made another mess for Lady to clean up. She called the landlord to come fix the hole.
We went back to the vet today. I look pretty bad. I have lot of spots on my back -the hair came off. I'm a spotty dog and don't look my best. I wore a hoodie to try to cover some of the bad spots. Saw my old vet. He remembered me. I weigh 10.3 kgs. He gave me two oral antibiotics (yea cheese), a new medicated shampoo, and a topical lotion. I have to go back Tuesday. We took a bicycle rickshaw home. It goes slower than the auto rickshaws and I can enjoy the scenery. My vet bill altogether was $20.41. In my old city it would have been $4.23. The big city is much more expensive. Lady's food bill is three times what is was in our other city. My dog chow costs the same.
I hope those rats don't keep Lady up tonight. She wakes me up.

RAT UPDATE

Rats! Yuck. We had them in China. They were always chewing holes in our screen to get inside. Well, a rat chewed a big hole in the wet rag Lady used to plug the hole in the glass. She found it in the sink. More poop in the drawers. It stole my dog chow. She tried to get one to fall into the trashcan by putting a piece of Pupperoni on it. The rat took the Pupperoni. She put out a sticky trap but it got out of it. She's going to try foil and duck tape tonight and bigger sticky traps. YUCK. Lady is NOT happy.

HOME!

I'm home with Lady!!
The three little humans I spent half my vacation with.
This is how I roll... I've got my eyes fixed on home.
My mattress! My blankie!
Guess what? Lady accidentally caught the RAT! Yep, it wasn't a mouse! She carefully put away any food, and also covered the traps. She didn't want to come home to a dead smell. Well... It ate a candle, a box of matches, and a LOT of butter Lady accidentally left out (covered)! Then, it climbed on top of the covered trash can and fell through! Before she left, Lady cleaned the new can with Lysol, so the rat (what was left) didn't smell gosh awful. She had a lot of chewed-up plastic and rat poop to clean up, and lots of containers to wash!!! But the rat is gone. Wouldn't want him to get my new bag of Pupperoni! Lady also went to Pet Smart and got me a new harness. It fits well and it's soft. It's called a Non-Pull Mesh Harness by Sporn. I think I might like it, but not sure yet.
Tate and Wyatt are in town and coming to visit me tomorrow!! Wyatt now calls all other dogs "Mahwee," after me! He's not yet two! Well, Lady and I are happy to be back together. We sure appreciate the two families who let me come visit with them! I had a pawsome time.
This is what Meri drew in my book!

NEW VACATION HOME

So, I survived the three short humans, and I was a "gentleman," according to my host. I didn't snap even when the middle kid sat on me. She was quite impressed with me. After all, I am eleven years old, and a dachshund. Now I am with another family new to me. They are dachshund lovers. I explored their house, checking everything out. My stuff's here, so all is okay.
Lady is in the US. She says she's learning a lot in her meetings, and having fun seeing old friends, and meeting new ones. She misses me.

GOING ON VACATION

Lady has a meeting in the USA so I am going on vacation. For the first five days, I will be visiting the B family with three short humans. Lady is going to visit her family for Thanksgiving, so I will stay with John and Sarah. I'm all packed up: blankie, toys, treats, clothes, towel, medical records, food, and a book I wrote about how to care for me. Lady helped. We're both kind of nervous because these are new families to me. I promised I'd be a sweet boy.
We have a mouse in the house. It ate two lollipops and my beef jerky. It's small, and got out of a sticky trap. We're not leaving traps while we're gone. Don't know how it got in.

NEW HOME!

Nancy and Vicky came on Monday to get me at the Home. Was I glad to see them! We had a sleepover in their home, then got up very early and traveled all day to get to my new home and my Lady. She was so glad to see me! She has this huge thing on her foot and walks funny. She also has a black thingy on her left wrist. I licked it. I promptly checked out every room in our new first-floor flat. My rug -check, my bowls, check, my blankies -check, my toy basket- check, my mattress-check, my Lady -check! This must be home!! My balcony is much larger than in my old home. I like it. We don't have quite as many windows as in the mountains but still lots of light radiates in, giving me rays in which to bask.
Lady isn't able to carry me easily, so Nancy and Vicky took me out each day. We have a small park right across from our lane. Two big street dogs live around there, right by the little neighborhood watchman. They are very friendly to Lady but they bark at me. A few more dogs are not happy I moved into their 'hood. Nancy and Vicky get afraid and pick me up. Those dogs will get used to me.
Nancy and Vicky helped Lady unpack, clean, and put things away. They left on the bus last night. Now Lady has to take me down the stairs. She asked me to please walk down but I said no. So, down we went ever so slowly. She brought me back before I was ready, but what can ya do? Pray my Lady heals quickly, okay?
It's 35 degrees hotter here than our old place. We have to get out early and go out later in the evening when it cools off. A little black dog gets hot quickly.
We just got internet yesterday, so Lady and I are playing catch-up.
Photos to come.

LADY's TRIP

Lady wanted to see the wall art by a young Lithuanian artist named Zachas.
Because her paws hurt, Lady took a trishaw tour of the historic district. Flat me went along but Lady forgot to take photos.

 Here's another wall mural.
Many tourists were flocking around to see the mural.
Lady stayed here in this home stay. Tomorrow she heads back to India and ME. Tuesday is my taxi adventure with my cousins Nancy and Vicky (a boy)!!! It will take us all day to get to my new city with fifty bazillion people in it!

PLANS

Heard from Lady. She is moving slowly with a cane, but still enjoying Malaysia. Her booboos are healing. She's going to a tea plantation tomorrow, and is taking Flat Marley. She got the idea from Asta and Wyatt. I'm having fun with the kids at the children's home. Nancy and Vicky are going to take me down by taxi on Oct 16 to my new home. They're going to stay with us for a few days to help Lady and me get settled. It's going to be hard for Lady to carry me until her foot heals. She can still carry me with a broken arm. I won't wiggle. I can't wait,
                                          CAN'T WAIT,
                                                 CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!

PHOTOS OF MY RIDE

Auntie Virginia had never ridden before.
Aunty Sylvia was a first timer, too.

On top of the world!!!

MARLEY THE ADVENTURE DOG GOES ON A HORSE TREK

Yes, I did! Lady couldn't stand the thought of leaving me behind on her last day in our city, so she took me with them. She thought I would just stay in the taxi with my good friend Mr. Sood. But when we got there, the horse guy said if I didn't wiggle and spook the horses, I could ride! So, Lady got on and Aunty put me up on the saddle in front of Lady. She just draped me across the horse! I didn' wiggle! I had a great time!We trekked to 10000 feet! And when we got to the top, we got off and explored all kinds of things! So many good smells! I drug Lady all over- through the flower garden, by the temple, by the yaks... I rode a yak! But the photo is so close up, you can't tell what I am sitting on.
Lady and I had a wonderful last day together. Pearly and Rani came from the home to pick me up. Lady cried. But my Lady always comes back!
*Lady here- miss my baby! Got my furniture moved to the capital. Having a great time in Malaysia, but fell on a beach boulder and broke my wrist, cut up my leg, and bruised my heel! Sure need my little fella now!

PUP UPDATE

Lady, Susan and I check on the pups at least twice a day. The mama dog was looking ragged and her teats are very dark. We took her some warm milk but she wasn't there. The pups smelled it and woke up. In they dove! They got it all over each other and then licked it off. Three are dogs and three are girls. Now when they see Lady, they waddle towards her. They try to bark at me! SO cute!

At my house, things are a mess. Lady has suitcases and trunks and stuff everywhere. All my blankets and rugs and clothes are being washed. My suitcase is half-packed. All my toys except three have been stuffed in a pillowcase and packed away. All the books are off our shelves. Lady is anxious so I am anxious. I am sticking right by her ankles. She's fussing that she is going to step on me, or fall over me. Change is int he air. The Big Move is here. Lady said a big truck is coming Saturday night. She said tonight is our last night here. I'm going to the Children's Home tomorrow night. My Lady always comes back for me. I'll be there for about three weeks until she gets us in our new flat in Delhi. I know she'll come back for me, she always does, but it doesn't mean I like it one little bit.

SNIPS AND SNAILS AND PUPPY DOG TAILS

Little Tater Tot came to play with me
This is MY toy. I can't play with his.
Oh great. Now both of them want to play with my stuffie.
I was good. I didn't bite. I let him play tug o war with me. I was gentle. If I'm not, I get scolded and have a time out. These boys love me and I love them, too.
This s*&% dropped her litter just down from my house. Kind humans give her some food. Just what we need -six MORE street dogs! They are cute, aren't they? And this young mama is realy gentle and sweet. She doesn't fuss at me at all when I stop by to visit her and check on her puppies. I just love puppies, and I won't let Lady walk past without checking on them. I even shared some of my best treats with her. Gandhi says, "Whenever possible, be kind...and it's always possible." Lady always says the same thing to me.
I'm still broken-hearted about my Lily, but I'll get over it. She gave me an award. I don't feel like posting it right now. And, I have a houseful of human guests to take care of.

Is there anything cuter than a puppy? Except for me, of course.

VISITORS

Friends from FL came back to visit us this year bringing gifts for ME! My grandma sent me a squeaky brownie sundae, and a bunch of folks sent me Beggin' Bacon strips! And Susan brought me Snausages. They helped me feel a bit better about Lily Belle choosing Newby over me. She broke my heart. I have her photos on my wall. She's black like me. Well, I just hope she's happy. Long distance relationships are tough, but I guess we can still be friends. Be happy, Lily.

BACK TO SCHOOL CLASSES

Thanks, Sarge, for this ultra cool back pack. I sure enjoyed my classes. I think Lady did, too. After my classes, I went out into the sunshine for recess. Padma came out to play with me. She's really getting big big! She couldn't even walk on two legs when we moved here.
Just licking my chops for what I can find!
 Look! I'm a pointer!
Lady says I get more handsome as I age.
Padma came out to play with me.

Okay, enough sun. I'm ready to go back in!
